With the Olympics in full swing, spectators have been marveling at the extraordinary strength and determination of the worldβs best athletes. With records being smashed, these Olympians seem almost super-human.
Recently, however, Usain Bolt revealed to People how challenging fatherhood is compared to his training to become the fastest man on earth.
β[Itβs harder] being a father of three, of all of them, especially when theyβre crying. Itβs great, but everybodyβs crying. Itβs pandemonium in the house,β shared the retired sprinter.
Considering Bolt welcomed his daughter, Olympia Lightning, in May 2020, and then newborn twins Saint Leo and Thunder this past July, just 13 months later, itβs not a surprise that his hands are full.
βItβs a lot more time consuming, but I enjoy it. Itβs always a challenge, and now Iβve had help from my parents and my significant otherβs parents also. So, itβs not as crazy, but Iβm enjoying it β¦β he explained to People.
Yet his comments will be reassuring to parents everywhere who often struggle with the challenges of parenthood, and can even feel like theyβre failing. If the fastest man alive finds being a dad tougher than being an Olympian, then itβs pretty normal weβre exhausted!
